First though, I had to get out of the hotel parking garage--an event I definitely was not looking forward to (see previous post). I asked the desk clerk if anyone was available to drive it out of the garage for me. She called someone who brought it out and Fe (who rode in the car with him) said that he had to back up on the ramp twice to get it there. I couldn't have done it. His tip was the best 5 euros I spent so far.
Thank goodness for GPS because Gibraltar doesn't appear on any of the signs until you're almost on top of it. Once we got to the border though, it was easy. The Spanish guards looked at our passports and the Gibraltarian guards did the same about 50 yards later. Then we were in. No passport stamp either. Brexit hasn't happened yet.
First, we ate lunch at a nice place near our hotel, then I went for a walk around town. Here are some pictures of that:
View of the top of the Rock
Grand Casemates Gate
Gibraltar Shopping District
View of Harbor with Moorish Castle in the foreground
Residential Doorway with seashells.
Lots of these stairways here.
More to come tomorrow. We signed up for a guided tour.
¿Cómo se dice "border crossing" en Español? cruce fronterizo
